By 10th November 2021 No Comments

The MATES partnership invites you to attend a workshop “Professional Skills and Training for Future Jobs in the Marine Economy” on 17 November at the upcoming Business2Sea event.

The objective of the workshop is to present the MATES Maritime Technologies Skills Strategy for the shipbuilding and offshore renewable energy sectors in Europe and obtain feedback from attendees. The workshop will present how skill requirements in the Blue Economy will likely change in the future as a result of emerging trends such as digitalisation, the rising demand for more sustainable practices and the adoption of new technologies. The results of the MATES project will be presented, showing the steps followed to develop a Skills Strategy involving the quadruple helix in the European maritime technologies sector. The outcomes of a selection of Pilot Experiences conducted by MATES partners will be presented. These Pilot Experiences have been developed and performed in order to test the Skills Strategy in different contexts.

To conclude, there will be an open discussion on the Skills Strategy, which contains a list of 32 key recommendations, insights and trends and all attendees will be invited to participate in the discussions. All stakeholders are also welcome to provide feedback through email by contacting mates@cetmar.org by 30 November 2021. Access the MATES Maritime Technologies Skills Strategy.
