Project Objective

SAFeCRAFT aims to develop and demonstrate the safety and viability of Sustainable Alternative Fuels (SAFs) in waterborne transport and accelerate their adoption. The project demonstrates SAF-enabling technologies for oceangoing and short-sea vessels, including liquid and compressed green hydrogen, LOHCs and ammonia. It includes an
onboard H2 GenSet demonstration on a 180,000 DWT bulk carrier, desktop studies for additional vessel types, safety and risk assessments, techno-economic evaluation, life-cycle analysis and technical guidance to support scalable uptake of SAFs in maritime transport.

WEGEMT Role
WEGEMT is a beneficiary and leads WP9: Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication. Its role includes setting up the dissemination and exploitation plan and communication strategy, developing project visibility through the online web platform, supporting synergies with relevant Horizon Europe activities, coordinating communication and dissemination activities, and leading dissemination/communication and synergies reports.
