MSc in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering by the Technical Universityof Madrid (UPM) and PhD in Civil Engineering by the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC).

Promoter and cofounder of the companies Compass IS, a technology services company specialized in the engineering design, and, Scipedia, developer of the innovative Open Science platform Scipedia.com.
Among other awards, He received the prestigious Duran Farell award for Technological Research and the Best Professional Career award for young engineers of the Spanish Association of Naval Architects.

The main lines of His research career are focused on the hydrodynamic analysis of naval structures, free surface, multi-physics, and fluid-structure interaction problems. He is author of more than 30 papers published in international journals, and have presented more than 40 communications in international conferences, being co-author of the Encyclopedia of Computational Mechanics (Ship Hydrodynamics, 2004).

He's currently head of the Naval & Maritime department of the International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE). CIMNE Naval & Maritime has been awarded in 2011 as the most relevant organization in the innovation for the naval sector, by the Spanish Association of Naval Architects.
